What I Think + Spoilers: A romantic comedy with Choi Si-won and Park Seo-joon? I don’t need any other reason other than that. Haha! Actually this is the first I saw Park Seo-joon and Hwang Jung-eum together. But damn, ang pangit ng hair plus the freckles pa ha, ni Jung eum dito! Reminded me of her character sa Lucky Romance. Pero in fairness, this is super light na drama. Wala yung plot na may mga serial killer or someone killed someone in the family. That kind of stuff.
This is merely a story about a boy and a girl who fell in love when they were kids and got separated. Fast forward to adult, the boy looked for the girl but the girl was too insecure to show up and had her pretty friend pretend to be her instead. Things were looking okay until the girl found out the the boy is her new boss. So yeah, it’s pretty fun.
But let’s get on with the spoilers!
Ji Sung-joon (Park Seo-joon) is M’s new deputy director. He was a fat kid and got bullied for it. Park Hye-jin was the only one who helped him and became his friend. They fell in love when they were kids. He came back to Korea to help M become the #1 magazine as well as to look for Hye-jin.
I mentioned the crazy hair and freckles right?! Kim Hye-jin (Hwang Jung-eum) is a smart, beautiful (she irons her hair when she was young) and wealthy girl. However her family’s printing business got bankrupt so now she’s struggling to pay loans and her living expenses. When Sung-joon came back and got in touch with her, she was ecstatic! But things didn’t turn out as she expected, when she saw Sung-joon, all her insecurities showed up. Thus she asked her bestfriend to pretend to be her and meet up with him instead.
So Min Ha-ri (Go Joon-hee) is Kim Hye-jin’s (Hwang Jung-eum). They are bestfriends and so as their parents. Her parents divorced and left her with her father who remarried. She has an estranged relationship with her rich father and she’s living with Hye-jin. She is not only beautiful and stylish, she’s also has a nice personality. While pretending to be Hye-jin, she fell in love Sung-joon.
Kalokang second lead syndrome na yan, here we are again! Kim Shin-hyuk (Choi Si-won) is M’s senior feature editor. He is generally a free-spirited, fair, and straightforward man but with mysterious identity (later found out to be the Korean writer, Ten). He calls Hye-jin Jackson because of her clothing style, she reminds him of Michael Jackson. He was fascinated with her thus she volunteered to mentor her. They became good friends and then later on, he fell in love with her. When she got drunk, she told him about her true relationship with Sung-joon. At the end, he left Korea and went backpacking around the world.
